Support Us

There are lots of ways you could support us in our work and here are a few examples. You can raise money for us by…
  • shopping online with easyfundraising. IRIS is registered with this organisation and receives a donation every time you shop online through them with one of their 3220 shops and sites – which include Amazon, Argos, Boots, Currys and other major retailers. It doesn’t cost you a penny extra! For details go to https://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/retailers/
  • Make donation is possibly the simplest way of supporting us. We can accept donations directly, or online through Just Giving.
  • leaving a legacy
  • A memorial gift is a very special way to remember a loved one, helping to provide support and assistance to local people who are blind or partially sighted.
  • Become a fundraiser? Why not take part in a local event with your friends, neighbours or work colleagues and support us at the same time? It might be a coffee morning, a car boot sale or a larger scale event such as a dance or race night. There are a huge number of tried and tested means of raising money in the community. With a little time and thought your idea can be converted into a new, exciting and up-to-date event. Contact the IRIS office if you’re interested in raising money for us in this way.

What do we need support for?

Maintaining our services and activities is our key priority, and we need to raise funds to keep them going. The provision of aids to promote independent living, for example, costs us currently about £1250 per month, and maintaining our social activities programme is £600 per month. We also have plans to develop new projects – we are interested in exploring the connections between sight loss and dementia, and would like to offer our services to those with sight loss living in residential and nursing homes. If you would like to know more about our spending priorities, contact the IRIS office.
